Donald Cameron MSP at the A83 Rest and be Thankful

Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron has repeated his demands for a permanent solution to the problems blighting the A83 trunk road in Argyll. Mr Cameron spoke out after news that the road has again been closed by a landslip at The Rest and Be Thankful.

The Scottish Conservative MSP said: “While we wait for further details of this incident, it is clear that despite millions of taxpayers' pounds being spent on landslip mitigation measures, the A83 continues to be blighted by disruption. This shows yet again the abject failure of the Scottish Government's policy of 'patch and mend'."

“Residents, communities and businesses across Argyll are completely fed up. They all depend on this road and it is utterly unacceptable that SNP ministers are still failing to deliver a permanent solution, despite having had thirteen years in government to do so.”
