Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron has said that jobs plan, launched today by Scottish Conservative leader, Douglas Ross, is exactly what his region needs.

Mr Cameron said: “At long last we have a series of proposals that recognise that regions like the Highlands and Islands have different needs from the Central Belt."

“It is also refreshing that Douglas has put the emphasis on co-operation and empowerment rather than confrontation and grievance."

“We are facing a massive economic challenge and we simply must come together to tackle it, and that means levering every source of support available, whether it comes from Holyrood or Westminster.”
