A ministerial statement on John Sturrock QC’s independent investigation into alleged bullying at NHS Highland has been delayed until next week.

The statement was due to be made at Holyrood on Thursday 2 May 2019 and has now been rescheduled to Thursday 9 May 2019.

Edward Mountain, MSP for the Highlands and Islands Region, commented:

“It appears that the pressures of Scottish Parliamentary business has forced the Ministerial Statement on John Sturrock’s Inquiry to be delayed until next week.

This is hugely disappointing due to the seriousness of the bullying allegations. I know many peoples’ lives and aspirations have been put on hold and they have been kept waiting for an outcome to this inquiry.

Earlier this week I asked the Cabinet Secretary for Health when the report will be made public and I look forward to her answer.”
