Following concerns raised by the Golspie Community Council in the local press about the future of the Minor Injuries Unit at the Lawson Memorial Hospital, Edward Mountain MSP said:

“The local community deserves openness and transparency from NHS Highland about the future of the Minor Injuries Unit.

“This was only meant to be a temporary closure but the longer it takes the health board to re-open the unit, the more it raises fears that it could be mothballed.

“That would be unacceptable and I am pressing NHS Highland for an urgent update on this issue.”
