The Highland Conservatives have selected Cllr Elaine Kirby as their candidate for the Caithness, Sutherland, and Ross constituency in the 2026 Scottish Parliament election.
Having lived in the constituency with her family, Elaine is well versed on the many emotive issues that locals currently face up here. She is passionate about the values we must uphold in this vast, and stunning landscape. Elaine has also ran her own floristry business. She holds experience in farming , the tourism sector and also has worked with property development.
Elaine’s main campaign priorities are to motivate a great team and listen to the electorate.
Elaine said:
'The Lib Dems and SNP have failed the Far North. The SNP have had 18 years and yet our education has got worse, the NHS is cut back, councils have been underfunded, and the A9 is still not dualled. The Lib Dems had the chance to call for this, but voted for an SNP budget without getting any concessions on the A9. They can't be trusted to deliver.'
'Only the Scottish Conservatives are providing a real alternative to this failure. We will cut income taxes, remove red tape to get the A9 dualled, and bring Common sense back to a Scottish Government which has ceased to work for the Highlands.'
