The election of Douglas Ross as Scottish Conservative leader has been warmly welcomed by Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron as good news for his region.

The new Scottish Conservative Leader, Douglas Ross, served as MSP for the Highlands and Islands from 2016-17, before winning the Moray constituency from SNP Westminster Leader Angus Robertson at the 2017 General Election. During his period as an MSP he served in Ruth Davidson’s Shadow Cabinet alongside Donald Cameron. Mr Ross was re-elected MP for Moray in the 2019 General Election.
