Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron is backing a new £3m promotional campaign by VisitScotland which aims to support tourism businesses. The campaign includes an emotive film welcoming back Scottish tourism.

The Scottish Conservative Shadow Finance Secretary has highlighted the importance of tourism across his region, and is urging local people to support the initiative.  Mr Cameron said: “It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of the tourism sector to the Highlands and Islands.  In a normal trading year, tourism generates an estimated £1bn for the regional economy and provides a livelihood for thousands of local people."

“However, as we all know, this year is anything but normal which is why I recommend that we all get behind this imaginative campaign by VisitScotland."

“I would encourage everyone to give the campaign a helping hand promoting #OnlyInScotland on their social media.”
