Highland Conservatives are very sorry to be losing Edward Mountain as one of our Members of the Scottish Parliament. He will be badly missed by Association colleagues and the many constituents he has helped during his time at Holyrood.
Edward is a hard-working and popular MSP who has done much to bring attention to the needs of the Highlands. Of particular note are his lobbying for improvements at Raigmore Hospital, his pushing for a new Inverness prison that is now under construction, his efforts to get Aviemore’s funicular railway operating again, fighting to dual the A9, arguing successfully for the refurbishment of Grantown medical centre to proceed, and his exposure of the shambles behind the Scottish Government’s ferry procurement programme.
We look forward to campaigning with Edward for the Holyrood 2026 election as we seek to elect his Conservative successor, and we wish Edward and Charlotte the very best for their future.
