Mountain questions why Ewing is refusing to act over Glenmore Campsite

Highland and Islands MSP Edward Mountain has criticised Fergus Ewing for the SNP's failure to take action to get the Glenmore Campsite in the Cairngorms opened again.

Ewing is the minister in charge of the land, which is owned by the Scottish Government through Forestry and Land Scotland, and leased to Camping in the Forest (CITF).  However, Ewing has done nothing to resolve the situation, raising serious questions about his competence, and why the SNP has mismanaged the leasing arrangements.

With Scottish tourism already in serious trouble because of SNP dithering over ending lockdown and getting Scotland open for business, the continuing closure of one of the most important campsites in the Cairngorms is a huge blow to the local economy.  Ewing's inaction, other than making "outraged" statements to the press about a situation his own government is responsible for, demonstrates just how little the SNP actually cares about supporting our tourism industry.
