On the 14th of May the Finance Secretary announced that she was increasing the Scottish Govt advertising spend to £3 million, but gave no assurances that this public money would be limited to providing COVID-19 information, nor that it would be fairly distributed across all national and local newspapers, rather than those that just parrot SNP propaganda.
Considerable concern has been raised already on social media about the use of this money, and we cannot trust the failing SNP to be honest about how such funds are allocated. We will be demanding proof that the taxpayer money being spent on advertising is being allocated impartially and is not being used to prop up separatist-supporting papers.
