Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron has said that the agreement on fisheries signed today between the UK and Norway is of huge importance to the Scottish fishing industry.
“This agreement just shows what can be achieved as the United Kingdom becomes a thriving independent coastal state once again."
“At long last, we can negotiate in the best interests of our own fish stocks and our own fishing industry, rather than EU bureaucrats doing it for us from Brussels, which is of course what the SNP would like given their obsession with subjecting the industry to the hated Common Fisheries Policy."
“Today's agreement is incredibly important for the Scottish fishing industry and will give the sector the confidence to invest and rebuild."
