Highlands and Islands Scottish Conservative MSP Donald Cameron has criticised the SNP Government for repeatedly refusing to support the embattled private sector following its failure to secure the future of the Arnish yard on Lewis

Mr Cameron spoke out after BiFab, owners of the Arnish Yard, filed for administration this morning.  We have just seen the SNP Government fail to support the Arnish yard at its time of need, while SNP MSPs have voted to delay revaluation of business rates, which are crippling many other businesses."

“We will be counting the cost of these actions in lost jobs which will make it even more challenging to retain our young people here in the Western Isles and across the Highlands and Islands."

“Scotland desperately needs a Government in Holyrood which is on the side of job creation rather than one which treats employers as a source of taxes to fund pet political projects of the SNP.”
