Highlands and Islands MSP Donald Cameron is calling on the Scottish Government to heed warnings that the hospitality sector is facing a financial crisis in the face of Covid restrictions.
Mr Cameron said: “While I support measures to tackle the threat from the Omicron variant, we can’t ignore the massive impact they are having on many hospitality businesses. Businesses have suffered from a wave of cancellations and are facing significant losses as a result."
“That’s why the Scottish Conservatives are calling on the SNP government to provide cancellation compensation in order to protect jobs and livelihoods. I hope ministers heed the call from the industry and don’t leave businesses to suffer a very bleak Christmas indeed.”
