Highlands 20mph survey

The last Scottish Government committed to implementing blanket 20mph limits on roads 'where it is appropriate to do so'. The concern is that the example of Wales is followed in Scotland, and unsuitable roads will be lumped in with the new limit.

In Wales, the new default speed limit on restricted roads (typically in built-up areas with streetlights) is 20 mph.

The Scottish Government has added that the 20mph zones should be 'self-policing' - meaning more speed calming measures like speedbumps. This doesn't mean any road with a new 20mph limit will be guaranteed to get speed calming measures.

Have your say.
